Confessions of a fabric hoarder

Being a member of a quilt guild definitely has its perks. One of those perks is the opportunity to attend discussions and workshops given by nationally-known quilters. We all have a quilter that we admire and blogs that we follow in order to get our daily quilting ‘fix’. I was very excited that Valley Modern Quilt Guild was able to bring Yvonne Fuchs to the San Fernando Valley. The discussion about her use of color on Monday night was informative, as well as inspiring. I had already signed up for the Saturday class and even purchased the fabrics that I wanted to use for my project. After her Monday presentation, I began second guessing my color choices and decided to go in a completely different direction. I’m pleased with the finished top and I can’t wait to get it loaded on my longarm, Johnnie. With any luck it will be ready for show and tell at the next guild meeting. Be sure to check out Quilting Jetgirl and follow Yvonne’s blog to be inspired by her work.
