Confessions of a fabric hoarder

During the Olympics I found myself studying the banners. I love all the color and the use of diamonds instead of a traditional square really got me hooked. So I open up the sketch pad and start drawing. Once the cover to the sketch pad closed that project got put on a back burner. A couple of weeks later I was surfing the web and came across this little gem. Did I mention the pattern is a free download? Visit Hoffman fabrics for more info. There are 29 different Bali batiks in the quilt…which makes this gem a semi-precious stone. It sounded like a great excuse for a trip to the local quilt shop. Now, I’ve got the fabric and I printed my pattern so it’s time to get started.

  1. I’m working on a quilt at the moment using a batik jelly roll. The colours I chose are masculine earthy tones, not beautiful jewel tones like your quilt but I’m enjoying working with them, as you clearly have with your fabrics. Great work!
